Art and architectural styles have been historically linked as long as people have been building and making art. Furthermore, the skills required in both disciplines are similar: good planning, precision, consistent layout, and an ability to move comfortably between attending to small details while keeping in mind “the big picture.” Experiment with the fun and challenge of balance required in building; practice the precision and accuracy required to trick the eye and create the illusion of linear perspective; and mimic the whimsy apparent in certain historical utilitarian structures as you work on your own architectural creation.
